Roberto Ottaviano: soprano sax
Maurizio Brunod: guitars
Danilo Gallo: double bass, balalaika, flute
Massimo Barbiero: drums, percussion, marimba
“The Billia Session,” the new work by the Gulliver quartet with Roberto Ottaviano, breaks the silence, crosses borders, and transforms sound into a political gesture, memory, and hope. More than just music as accompaniment; The Billiard Session questions and ask whose side we want to be on.
This project imagines a new world, far from wars, with many cultures pieced together in a unified coexistence.
Inspired by moments rich in poetry, the music moves from Greece to Finland through Palestine and finally ending in Ethiopia, without forgetting the rest of the world.
The lineup’s ability to blend popular elements with more experimental ones—without ever breaking the thread of improvisational art—is a rare quality indeed. Ottaviano, on soprano sax, adds a communicative dimension rich in dialogue and nuance, while Barbiero (drums, percussion, and marimba), Brunod (guitars), and Gallo (double bass, balalaika, and flute) construct a rhythmic-harmonic fabric that does more than just provide support; it constantly redefines the sonic balance. Conceived as a continuous flow free from stylistic barriers, *The Billia Session* serves as a contemporary chronicle, rooted in a form of jazz that draws on diverse influences and opens itself to new horizons.

Germogli Sonori - Children's Workshop
Music and play workshops for children aged 6 to 13
with musician Francesco Cusini
Germogli Sonori” is a musical training project aimed at school-age children from six to thirteen years old, in which the activity is rendered through play and imagination; it takes place in the middle of nature in the beautiful Valtellina alpine landscape, on high-altitude lawns and in parks.
Accessible to everyone, Nature is the starting point of this creative journey where every child has the possibility to produce sounds and, perhaps, become passionate about an instrument.
A child who plays (anything) is never alone, music will always keep him company and help him overcome the difficult moments that Life, inevitably, will present to him.
“Germogli Sonori” is also about contact with musicians—listening, comparing, and getting to know many different instruments and, hopefully, finding the one they like best.
Piazzale di Valbona at 5:00 PM
Free admission – children must be accompanied by an adult
