Stua scura is not just a name, but the expression of a sonic place: the union between primordial warmth and sensory darkness.

“Stua,” in Venetian (from German, stube): evokes a traditional wood paneled Alpine living room comfortably heated with a hearth. It represents intimacy, welcome, enveloping warmth and a domestic atmosphere where life unfolds sheltered from the cold.

“Scura”: describes the timbral color of the music. It is not a cold darkness, but a deep, velvety, and earthy tone. It is the shadow that amplifies introspection and emotion.

Stua scura is, therefore, the experience of an intimate and mysterious warmth. It is the sound that emanates from a room lit only by dying embers, where whispered stories take on a deep resonance.

The project is built entirely around the harmonic richness and evocative power of its main instruments, chosen to create a warm-dark timbral continuity:

Bass Clarinet: with its deep register and almost human voice, it gives the music a melancholy and meditative foundation. It is the element that roots the sound in the intimacy of the “Stua”.

Tenor Saxophone: It brings its round, full-bodied sound. It symbolizes glowing embers: an intense but veiled heat, capable of lyrical moments and sudden explosions of dark light.

Guitar: The use of the guitar adds harmonic consistency and texture. It serves as a bridge between rhythm and melody, contributing to the sensation of warmth (the “wood” of the guitar) and mystery (the effects that make it “dark”).

Drums: The rhythm section is essential to anchor the sound to the earth (the “primordial” side of warmth).

Groups selected as part of the Nuovo Imaie Call – The concerts will be realized with funds from Article 7 L.93/92

What could be better than admiring Valtellina while walking to an AmbriaJazz Festival concert?

Departure from Piazza Triasso at 4:00 PM

The rock engravings of Ganda are not marked but you can easily find them along the road from Triasso to the Moroni district. After about 500 meters you will see a fountain, just before there is a small road that goes up to the right towards the forest. Go along this small road pass the first house and at the gate of the second house you will find the sign that explains the engravings. Enter freely through the gate. The engravings are on the cliff in front of the house.

After seeing the carvings, it is best to retrace your steps to the intersection and take via Grigioni which will bring you closer to the Auditorium Leone Trabucchi.
