“TO BE BORN” is a solo project for voice and electronics inspired by Demetrio Stratos and the exploration of overtone singing, an interest sparked by the author’s Sardinian origins.

Overtone singing, like many other extended vocal techniques, comes from distant times and mysterious places where vocal expressiveness was conceived differently from our own. This project goes beyond the limits of the voice understood as a single sound. Through researching traditions from around the world, in addition to incorporating the variety of sounds emitted in the first months of life, Diodati offers her explorations in a more modern and Western context.
The aim is to do away with any specific definition of ‘style’ and time. The artist seeks to overcome human limitations allowing for the exploration of all vocal possibilities. It is a research, a desire for courage, an attempt to return to that timbral creativity that we have all forgotten we possess.
DAY OF KINDNESS: a beautiful initiative to share
The Day of Kindness is organized by the inhabitants of the district of San Giuseppe, just north of Ardenno, in collaboration with Pro Loco of Ardenno. The community members prepare a special dish of polenta and milk which is served free of charge to anyone that brings their own bowl and spoon. In return, visitors are invited to bring something to share for the communal table.

Other useful information: To get to the Borgo di S. Giuseppe follow the road to Gaggio where we recommend parking your vehicle and walking to the concert site. The trail is uphill and takes about 20 minutes.A shuttle service will be available if needed.
PLEASE NOTE: The concert and children’s activities will be held on the lawn; bring a blanket or folding chair. Seating is not available for this event. The audience is invited to bring blankets, cushions, or mats to spread on the ground.
In case of rain the concert and Germogli Sonori will be held inside the church of S. Giuseppe.

Germogli Sonori - Children's Workshop
Music and play workshops for children from 6 to 13 years old
with musician Francesco Cusini
Lawn of St. Joseph’s Church 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. .

In this workshop, “Sound Games from Nature” Children will search for sounds in the natural beauty of the alpine landscape. Through attentive listening rhythmic and melodic sounds are perceived . They will also discover objects in nature that produce sound, which is the historical basis for the creation of musical instruments. Sound Games in Nature is an entry point for everyone, regardless of their prior musical experience. The workshop encourages the relationship between nature, sound, instrumentation and music. The objective is to “plant the seeds” of motivation and the interest to produce sound. …possibly even to spark a desire to learn to play an instrument.
In addition to having direct contact with musicians “Germogli Sonori” is also about listening, comparing, and the learning about many different instruments ; hopefully inspiring children to choose the one they like best.

What could be a more beautiful way to admire the Valtellina landscape than walking en route to an AmbriaJazz Festival Concert?
Taking the Via dei Terrazzamenti from Ardenno, you’ll hike along a historic path that connects various districts. You can discover enchanting views, admire the valley from an unusual prospective and take a break from the sun walking through the shaded woods.
Bring a hat, water bottle and hiking boots: you will find drinking fountains on the way. The path is on a gentle uphill and very scenic.
If you want to travel to the performance with other concert goers, meet us for a departure at 9:00 from Piazza Roma in Ardenno, in front of City Hall, where there is also parking
