AmbriaJazz ODV has been operating in the province of Sondrio since 2009 with 25 volunteers and 11 members, organizes and promotes cultural events in the field of music but not only. In addition to the summer festival held in the beautiful alpine landscape, the association also carries out educational projects for children in schools and events throughout the year.
It is one of the few organizations in Italy not to have suspended its activities and the Festival due to Covid in 2020, from which it emerges with greater potential and resources to safely tackle the events of 2021, the year in which its transformation into a Green Festival officially begins.

AmbriaJazz ODV is a volunteer organization originally established in 2009, with eleven members and twenty-five volunteers, 11 of whom are regularly active and 14 who volunteer occasionally. It is legally represented by Giovanni Busetto, Artistic Director of the AmbriaJazz Festival since the Association’s inception. Matteo Codega has been Vice President since November 2, 2021.

The Association carries out cultural initiatives of various kinds with a predominance of concert activity to which it often and willingly accompanies theatrical performances, expressions of contemporary and avant-garde art, and spaces dedicated to photography and fine arts. It collaborates with numerous territorial institutions and fits well into the social fabric of the province of Sondrio through collaboration with local associations, voluntary work and third sector companies.

In particular, the Association organizes and promotes a traveling jazz and contemporary music festival called AmbriaJazz, a sort of cultural laboratory that involves the entire valley. The Festival is highly attractive because it offers a carefully curated selection of musicians from the Italian and European jazz scene, with a focus on emerging talent and rich cultural offerings, giving ample space to the intersection of genres, arts, and cultures. The projects included in the festival enjoy the patronage of the Province of Sondrio, the MIC, the Italian Association for Responsible Tourism, Valtellina Turismo, Italia Jazz, and IJVAS (Jazz Goes to School).

In addition to enhancing the valley’s cultural heritage through the enjoyment of its sites, AmbriaJazz is an important tool for social interaction and aggregation, acting as a vehicle for important values such as respect for humanity, the environment, the animal and plant kingdoms, and for cultural heritage.

Over the years, AmbriaJazz ODV has increasingly adopted green criteria, has acquired the skills and expertise to raise awareness among tourists, travellers and residents towards the sustainable use of the territory by encouraging sustainable hospitality offers and promoting forms of soft mobility (particularly on two wheels and on foot). It has always paid attention to accessibility and the inclusion of the most vulnerable audiences by offering assistance to the blind and by regularly using Joëlettes (one-wheel wheelchairs for those with mobility difficulties) on less accessible paths, thus ensuring enjoyment of site-specific musical storytelling performances.

The Association is also able to reach a wide network of stakeholders thanks to its up-to-date communication skills: the website www.ambriajazzfestival.it, the newsletter, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and WhatsApp) are the main digital communication channels, alongside newspapers and print media.

The experience gained over 16 years in planning, coordinating, and organizing cultural events has allowed us to cultivate a dense network of contacts.

Today it can offer quality and professionalism in the organization of cultural events.
