Olivia Trummer | For You

Olivia Trummer piano, keyboards, vocals, Rosario Bonaccorso double bass – Nicola Angelucci drums

FOR YOU is Olivia Trummer‘s ninth album and definitely marks her maturity as an artist. Of Stuttgart German descent, Trummer comes from a musical family. She initially trained as a classical pianist and subsequently continued her studies overseas attending jazz classes at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. Trummer’s music ranges from classical to jazz. Her latest work is in the domain of the singer-songwriter. She collects her experiences, human and artistic, and transforms them into an invitation to share in courage and lightness, to have respect for oneself and one’s vocation and to let go of everything that is not useful. It’s an invitation to live with the freedom to make choices, even when they are uncomfortable or unpopular, to become self-realized.

Thanks to the innate elegance of her soft and versatile voice, Olivia creates a unique and intensely poetic universe. She is accompanied by two champions of the Italian jazz scene. Rosario Bonaccorso is a double bass player with great experience and elegance. For the last forty years he has played both as a sideman for various international artists and as an ensemble leader demonstrating his compositional talent.

Nicola Angelucci, defined by Benny Golson as “the best European drummer”, plays permanently in the quartet of Fabrizio Bosso, in the trio of Dado Moroni, in the trio of Bebo Ferra and is the leader of his own quartet which offers mainly original music. The recent release of his latest album, Changes, is entirely dedicated to his compositions.
