“Diversity” is a concentration of small diverse universes made of sounds and “messages whispered aloud”. Diletta Longhi is making her official debut with an album balanced between jazz and world music. African, European, and American sounds can be felt in some of their forms and evolutions, from reggae to jazz, from soul to hip-hop, from pop to rock. Diletta Longhi’s warm and full-bodied voice is the common thread of this heterogeneous album that never ceases to amaze with each listen.
“I believe the album presents a good balance between writing, arrangement, and expressive freedom. For me, it’s very important to give value to the words spoken and the message one wants to convey,” says Diletta Longhi. Music is a universal language and as such can deal with important and sensitive topics that can be understood by many people. And if you have a gift, and also a strong sensitivity as in Diletta’s case, you can’t help but be the medium. “In ‘Diversity’ we sing about love but not only; I allow myself to reflect on human evolution, which becomes awareness of what the future holds for human beings and the relationship with Nature.” An album with concepts to reflect upon, launched into the world and let go, like seeds at the mercy of the wind “in the hope that they find new fertile lands in which to settle and then germinate.”
Groups are selected under the Bando Nuovo Imaie- Concerts will be sponsored with funds from art.7 L.93/92.
